Keep green waste and general debris in separate containers where you can: a load of clean brush tips for less at Frey Farm, and a mixed load of leaves and drywall cannot go there. Keep hazardous items out: pesticides, pool chemicals and fuel go to LCSWMA’s household hazardous waste facility, not the container.

The City of Lancaster collects yard waste as its own stream on the regular refuse schedule, and that is enough for a normal weekend’s trimming. A container makes sense when the pile would take months to clear at the curb, when you have stumps, sod or soil the curb will not take, or when the job has to be done this week.
