What a home dumpster rental in Lancaster is used for

Where the container goes

Most residential dumpsters go on the driveway, and on a private driveway or lot there is no permit anywhere we deliver. City rowhome streets are different: if the container has to sit in a City of Lancaster street, City Code § 285-45 requires a right-of-way permit first. The published fee is $75, the permit runs 90 days, and it comes from the Bureau of Engineering at 120 North Duke Street (window 2), 717-291-4764. The City’s conditions are specific: a container no more than five feet tall, reflective material, covered at all times, plywood under it, within 12 inches of the curb, 20 feet from a hydrant and 25 feet from an intersection or driveway. We help you file it and size the box to suit.

Outside the city the rules differ: Ephrata has a Code Enforcement permit, Manheim Township a $50 permit through its Police Department, and the other boroughs and townships each have their own approach. Our service-area pages spell out each one.
