In a City of Lancaster street, City Code § 285-45 requires a right-of-way permit from the Bureau of Engineering (120 North Duke Street, 717-291-4764): $75, good for 90 days, with the container no more than five feet tall, covered, on plywood, 20 feet from a hydrant and 25 feet from an intersection. Call before noon and we can usually deliver the same afternoon across the City of Lancaster, Manheim Township and the closest townships. Otherwise, next day.

As long as your project needs. Most home rentals run three to seven days; contractors keep containers for weeks with swaps. Tell us the dates when you book and we extend if the job runs over. A City street permit runs 90 days and is not renewable.

Pennsylvania keeps TVs, computers and monitors out of landfills and the trash, bars whole tires and lead-acid batteries, will not landfill a load that is mostly leaf waste, and never takes free liquids or friable asbestos. Refrigerant appliances need the gas recovered first, and oil-based paint, chemicals and fluorescent lamps go to LCSWMA’s household hazardous waste facility. Our guide lists where each item goes.

To LCSWMA’s Transfer Station Complex at 1299 Harrisburg Pike, and from there to the county’s waste-to-energy facility or Frey Farm Landfill; clean yard waste goes to Frey Farm, the one county site that takes it. The City’s own collection will not take construction debris at the curb, so a roll-off is the practical route.

We set the container down rather than dragging it and put boards under the rails on request. Tell us if the surface is new or decorative and we will plan the placement around it.

Ephrata requires a Code Enforcement permit (up to 30 days plus two renewals, one per property per year); Manheim Township a $50 permit through its Police Department, five business days ahead, for up to 30 days. Millersville, Mountville and Columbia boroughs and the townships behind Willow Street, Leola, Bird-in-Hand and Ronks each handle it their own way. Yes. Our junk removal crew loads, hauls and disposes of furniture, appliances and whole-house cleanouts, priced by the load with a firm quote on site. On a rowhome street with no driveway it is often simpler than a street permit.

No. The load must be level with the top rail so the truck can tarp it and travel legally. We will ask you to level an overfilled container before we haul it.

You pay the per-ton overage rate we quoted when you booked, nothing more. Light loads rarely get near the allowance; heavy loads are why we size concrete, dirt and shingles into smaller containers.
