Dumpster Sizes: 10 to 40 Yard Comparison

Sizes & What Fits

Which dumpster size do I need?

We run five roll-off sizes across Lancaster County: 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40-yard. Every rental is one flat price: delivery, the rental period and a weight allowance are all included before we bring the truck out. Go over the weight allowance and we’ll tell you the per-ton overage rate up front, no surprises on the invoice.
Size Dimensions Holds Weight Included Best For
10 Yard 12′ L × 8′ W × 3.5′ H ≈ 3 pickup truck loads 1 to 2 tons Small cleanouts, heavy debris (dirt, concrete, brick)
15 Yard 16′ L × 8′ W × 4′ H ≈ 4 to 5 pickup truck loads 2 tons Flooring, deck teardown, small roof
20 Yard 22′ L × 8′ W × 4′ H ≈ 6 pickup truck loads 3 tons Whole-home cleanout, large remodel, roof replacement
30 Yard 22′ L × 8′ W × 6′ H ≈ 9 pickup truck loads 4 tons New construction, major renovation, commercial
40 Yard 22′ L × 8′ W × 8′ H ≈ 12 pickup truck loads 5 tons Demolition, large job sites, bulky light debris

Dimensions are approximate and can vary slightly by container. Heavy material like concrete, dirt and shingles should go in a 10 or 15-yard so you don’t run into the weight allowance. Call (717) 621-3603 and we’ll size it and quote a flat price in one call.
